Part 1

-To Do: Create a product that includes five inventions from different time periods.
Each invention will need to include the following information:
  • What is it?
  • When was it created?
  • Who created it?
  • Why should we care (what good came from the invention)?

Create a page in your wikispace call INVENTIONS and attach your invention document to it. Then complete the Reflection below on this page.
-To Do: Page Creation -Your wiki page about inventions and timelines needs to include a reflective component. You are expected to include at least three of the following questions in a well-written and thoughtful response (please use appropriate grammar, punctuation, etc.):
  • What is technology and how does it affect your life?
  • How has technology changed over time?
  • How have inventions impacted society? Explain.
  • What causes people to create new ideas, objects, and/or things? Explain.
  • What does your document tell us and/or show us?

Part 2


-To Do: Timeline Creation -You will be creating a timeline of the last year (starting January 1, 2010 and ending September 2010) using http://timeglider.com/. The timeline is going to be linked to your wiki page much like our last assignment. Because this information is accessible to people on the World Wide Web, we ask that you DO NOT include your last name. The timeline requirements are provided below:
  • You are expected to include a total of 25-events
  • Five events need to have an imported graphic associated with them
  • Hints
    • Think of big things that happened (that you want to share -avoid TMI) and you can easily remember (e.g. start of school, birthdays -first names only, the days the Vikings won games, etc.)
